I have a original 1968 - 1968 SS hood I've had laying around my garage for years. I bought it from a friend years ago and I don't remember what I payed for it. This hood has to go. It does need some body work up near the front it and has some right side damage. It's not critically bad but it can be fixed. Just wondering what I should ask for it. I can post pictures of it if need. Thanks in advance.

I bet the damage part is going to make it hard to sell unless its real cheap. Ive looked for a couple years, found a few with dents in the middle of the spine. one with a buckle at the hinge. I think both of those were 175 or 200 and I dont think they ever sold. I got lucky with the one I found, not perfect but a couple dings etc. paid $100 for it. But that was a real lucky find. jim

Thanks Jim, I thought I'd put it on ebay for local pick up only starting at $100

make sure you put how far apart the bolt holes for the hinges are apart in your listing. Ive looked on here and found there is actually a early 68 and late 68 hood. 12 3/4 and 12 1/4 I think is what I read. I think the 69 hoods have bolt holes 14.5 inches apart or something like that. The hood I bought was advertised as a 69 hood, came with 69 hinges that was drilled out so the hood would fit. Turns out the hood is a early 68 12 3/4" hinge space hood. Then again the tranny I bought from this guy was suppose to be a 69 M20 and it turned out to be a 70 M21 with a 66 bell housing. jim
