can i put 275/60/15 tires on my 71 chevelle with 5 spoke 7 inch wide factory rally wheels do you think that's too much tire to have on the front like to keep them all the same so i can rotate them after burnouts etc thanks

A 275/60-15 on the front is a bit much for sure. You can get away with a 7" rim with that tire. A 8" rim is optimal, alot of guys run a 225/70-15 on the front with that 275/60-15 on the back.

look at my signature pictures...
running 275 60 15's on the rear and 235 70 15's on the front... same wheels you have same year, no fitment issues.

If you try to install 275 60 15's on 7" rims, they outsides of the tread pattern will pull down and put stress on the sidewalls. An 8" rim is optimal for that size tire. A 275 tire is a bit big for the front and will have issues rubbing the frame and/or suspension parts. 235 60 15's fit nice and fill the wheel well nice up front. 255 60 15's will fit nicely on 7" rims and are just a hair smaller than the 275's.

I run the 275's on a 7 inch rim (in the rear) with no problems.

Hey! Nice 'Velle ! Like your rears but fronts are a little big, & you want bigger??
I run a 215/65 on 15x7 rally, nice fit for front IMHO.
