Can someone tell me the difference in the front parking lamps (in bumper) on the 69 Chevelle and 69 Chevelle SS? It shows they are different in several different parts books, but does not indicate the difference?

The 2 69s I had, both had a black plastic ring around them. One car was basically untouched the other had lived a dogs life.

I believe the (69) SS had a stainless steel trim ring, other models did not.

The part numbers are the same for the lense and the housing. The AIM may list a different part number because the SS lense has more than one part as it came with a thin stainless steel band around the perimeter face of the lense. That part number would be for the lense assembly. The non SS lense is identical but is lacking the band. A very difficult part to find if you're looking for an original.
