I'm in the process of working out a trade for a 1969 Chevelle SS, (#96 th400 12bolt posi disc breaks front & rear sway bars 7/16 gasline ALL correct badges inside & out Three speed indicator on dash If it wasnt a true SS it would be a two speed trany Also it has the [L] in the cowl that is said to be a true SS Also it has [May sound funny but] The hood hinges are 21/2 " longer then a standerd chevelle .)

I need help understanding what does the #96 represent when decoding ??
