: New Global West Group Purchase

May 11th, 03, 9:17 PM
As mentioned on another thread,I am putting together a GP for Global West products. With an initial order of $4K or more,I can offer a 20% discount through my business,H&H Custom. Not all GW part numbers will qualify for this discount (QA1 coilovers being one) but the majority of their products will. GW has agreed to drop-ship our orders directly to us which will save the extra expense and time of shipping the parts to me,,then being shipped again from here. Two questions I need to clarify with them,is the question of CA state tax being collected and will they drop-ship to us,freight collect. If you are seriously interested in getting onboard this GP,please go to GW's website, make a list of the part number(s)needed, and email it to me. I will then crosscheck your proposed order, subtract your 20% discount, and email the info back to you with further instructions. Payment will be via bank draft,Postal money order,or certified funds. Those are the safest form of payment for us both. Sorry,no credit cards or Paypal at this time. Hope to hear from you very soon.
Sincerely,

Clint44

I talked to my sales rep at Global West this morning. Shipping costs have to be prepaid so I'll email your address to them for a shipping quote. That amount will be added to your total cost and the parts will be drop-shipped right to your door. Doing it that way will eliminate COD fees which can get expensive if the order is comprised of many boxes.
Email me any questions you might have to: chooper@sw.rr.com

Having talked to several S-10 owners here in Las Vegas with V-8 Conversions, they state that they have all the stopping power you could ask for (We believe they have 10 1/2" Rotors (?)

Bump.

Why is there such low interest in this? Did everyone buy during the 10% sale, or what?

Just curious as this seems to be a great deal on the making, and there was a ton of interest before.

Clint,

I'm in... would LIKE to use a credit card if possible.... Otherwise will make something work. I want the following items for my '65;

Lower Arms P/N: CTA-42H (Coil over shocks) BOTH arms are to have the Del a lum bushings.... I'll source my own HAL coil overs....

Here is my zip info: 95667-8342 (I'm in Nor Cal) so will need tax added to the totals... :D

20% off is a good enuf deal for me~

Clint44
May 23rd, 03, 7:15 PM
Yep,I'm ready to start accepting orders. Have two on the way, now. I will deposit the checks when we reach the $5K gross figure.$5K-20%=$4K
GW's tubular a-arms are a frequent back-order item so my best guess is 4-6 weeks delivery, maybe quicker. Call GW for a better estimate.

John, email me the GW part numbers you want and your shipping address. Please note that it's possible some items might not qualify for the 20% discount;i.e. QA1 coilovers being one. I will have to call GW and ask about the 8" booster as there are others wanting to order this item, too.

Clint, I just e-mailed you my information. I want in on the deal, but don't have all the part numbers nailed down yet. Please send me the address where you want payment mailed.

Clint44
May 27th, 03, 2:30 PM
Ok,I just got off the phone with Global West. Those of you who have emailed me with part numbers and mailing address,I will email your total cost to you. On the question of sales tax for CA residents, there will not be any charged as technically, you are buying the products from me in TX. Only TX residents will pay sales tax.
Another subject to discuss is the length of the GP. Initially,GW told me my discount rates would be good for twelve months after I met the initial buy-in requirements. That is no longer the case. This GP will be a one timer and as such, will have an order deadline of June 9th.
Thank you for being patient.

What happens if you don't reach the 10K mark?? Is the GP off then and no discount?

Clint44
May 31st, 03, 12:26 AM
Of course not,Bob. We only had to have a $5K minimum order. If we get to $10K,I'm pretty sure I'll be able to give you guys another 5% to 10%off.

I'm in need of a complete front end, but I see above that LVMAXX indicates that a lot of you guys don't think the tall spindles are worth it?
What's up with that?
I don't mean to side track this thread, as I have another one going trying to help me decide what to buy.

Dennis DENNIS;

Our guess would be that the Tall Spindle Conversion is a 50-50 for/against issue on this site.

We honestly don't know which way to go as yet, and are reading and studying posts on this site, plus other reading materials on this subject.

If Global West is the way to go, then we only have a couple of days left on the 20 percent discount (?)

Where is your other post on this subject on this site?

CLINT;

The Team Members should send you several twelve (12) packs of whatever you want, as it is a difficult task to do what you did. The phone calls, emails, paperwork, etc. can become "Mind Consuming" on group purchases.

Hats off to Clint Team Members.

As to us, we went a different way, and when it's complete, we will post pics/descriptions on the site.

Again, "CONGRATULATIONS", you team members are getting a quality product(s) at a great discount, as the Global West Control Arms really look "BEEFY".

Clint44

Yes,sir. I talked to Steve at Global West today. He said the funds have been received and some stuff will start shipping out, tomorrow. The tubular a-arms are at the powdercoaters now and will start shipping in approximately 2-3 weeks.
All I need to finish up my front end is some QA-1 coilovers and some Baer brakes. Anyone interested in a Baer GP in the near future? I'm a long time dealer.

I know what you mean,Armando. Heck,I've spent over $10K on my El Camino this month and the well is about to run dry. :D
Here's the plan. To become a wholesale/distributor
for Baer,it will require a $10K buy-in. Obviously, this GP will take some time to put together.

Beaux,I plan on doing a full-blown Baer group purchase after everyone gets their parts from Global West. That takes first priority at the moment.
You guys wanting to keep your 15" wheels need to check out Baer's new Serious Street brake kit for A-bodies. They have built their killer Eradispeed two-piece rotor in 11" sizes and incorporated a pair of these into the Serious Street package. The calipers are twin piston PBR's used on '90-95 ZR-1 Corvettes.

Just check out http://www.baer.com/ and look over their different brake kits and pick out the one you want.
Since I'm running 17" wheels,I plan to order Baer's Track kit with 13" Eradispeed rotor option. I've already got 12" Baer Eradispeeds on my car's Alston Fab 9 rear.

Jul 6th, 03, 10:19 PM
Clint,

I am running 15in draglites, is there a reason why I can't use the Baer 12in Sport Front system? If I can use 12in brakes from a 1LE, am I missing something here that would cause the 12 Baer's not to work? Or will the 12 Sport work with my 15 Weld's, not just with stock OEM 15in wheels?

Kerry

Clint44
Jul 7th, 03, 1:13 AM
Both the Baer Sport system and the 1LE use the same style PBR caliper,I think,so your wheels should work fine. Might not hurt to call Baer and ask them to send you a paper template to make sure, though.

I wouldn't let it get to you too much,Bob. GW doesn't have a reputation for speedy shipping and besides that, they are swamped with orders right now. Have you called and talked to Gilbert or Steve, yet? Probably wouldn't hurt to do so.

David Bates
Jul 16th, 03, 5:07 AM
Not to contradict anyone but I ordered uppers/lowers/coil-overs for the tall spindle conversion last year and had them in less than two weeks. Ordered another set CTA47A uppers and CTA42H lowers last Wednesday (July 9, 2003) and the lowers arrived yesterday and the uppers are "Out for delivery" from UPS today! Must be one of those Timing Is Everything situations.

I missed out on the group purchase deal but did get 10% off and free shipping which works out to about 17% total.
