So my car is a 68. A few years back I picked up some 69 parts to get my front end together after an accident. I recently got a new grill for a 68, polished it a bit and painted it. No when going to put it on I think the filler panel isnt right for it. Heres some pics to see what Im talkin about. I just want to see what a 68 filler panel is supposed to have to mount the grill.. Thanks!

First off, the new grill :) :

Mounting tabs on the back of the new grill:

Not sure of any other differences but I believe a '69 panel has a cutout area for hood release lever clearance and a '68 doesn't.

Von is correct. If you put a 68 filler panel in a 69, the hood won't open, because the 68 has no cutout. They also have different holes for the grill brackets, although the repro's have no holes. You have to drill them yourself. A 69 filler panel will work on a 68, except it will have the cutout, which isn't used, and the bracket holes won't be the same.
