Has anyone done a similiar swap? I've searched the forum and found some info, but I'd like to hear from someone who's actually done it.

I got the parts real cheap and I'm putting it together right now. The driver side caliper mounts to the rear, passenger side to the front. The driver side parking brake lever won't clear the shock mount. The rear end is out of the car, I can take some pretty clear pictures if anyone's interested. Like I said, I got the stuff cheap and sure would like to make it work.

Did you, by chance, happen to pick these up from an early Camaro owner? With the way they have the staggered shocks, they use 2 RH brackets so that one side is facing the other way.

I'm relatively sure that if you're not trying to clear staggered shocks, the caliper brackets should be facing the same way on both sides.

The 3rd gen camaro uses the same backing plate & caliper for both the LH and RH side. On the passenger side the assembly puts the caliper in front of the axle. Take the same assembly to the driver side and it mounts the caliper to the rear. There's no way to get both calipers on the same side, even if there were a RH and LH backing plate one caliper bleeder screw would be pointing up and the other side pointing down.

I think I've got it figured out. The RH side was easy, it's all in front of the axle tube and doesn't interfere with the shock or control arm.

On the LH side, I was able to rotate & re-drill the backing plate just enough so the parking brake lever clears the shock mount and the bleeder screw is still pointing up.

I may have to weld in a plate that would let me move the lower shock mounts inward about and inch. The shock body may interfere with the e-brake lever mounted on the back side of the caliper. Everything else looks like it will work out ok.

Good to hear, I wasn't so sure about the 3rd gen Camaro setups; I know the 4th gen is different between R/L.

Can't speak for others, but once you've got it all together I for one would love to see pics, if you've got the ability to take them.
