I think the time has finally come to get rid of my old elky. A little history about the car. I've had it since I was 15, been in the family since 1973. I learned to fix motors, trannys, dents with this car, pretty much started my love affair with chevelles and caminos.

The car has a fresh 388(383+.30), Patriot aluminum heads, 1.6 roller rockers, fully balanced rotating assembly, 700r4, 4 wheel disc brakes(stock gm front, s-10 rear), peg leg 10 bolt rear with 2.73 gears. Brand spankin new 17" chrome torque thrusts and bfg rubber. new front and back glass. new headliner. refurbished sweep dash with custom gauge inserts. Vintage Air installed. Exceptional black paint(and I am a paint and body guy). Non functional cowl hood. New vinyl top. Stainless steel radiator hoses. Power steering and power brakes. New chrome door handles. New window rubbers and felts(including vent windows).

The car is painted except the tailgate and I plan to have it finished by the weekend, so a completely painted car is the pricing.

The parts that are unfinished are the interior(seats carpet and door panels), the trim around the bed (i have it, but its not as nice as this car is) and the rear bumper has a dent that could be fixed and chromed or replaced.

The only reason I'm looking to sell is to get the funding to start up my own shop. I know I'll get the guys to say keep it and I'll regret it, which I'm sure I will. However I believe that getting rid of this car is my key to have the capital for a successful shop venture. I've got the customer base, and the experience, just not the shop space anymore. I'll post a few pics and hopefully get an idea.

I've been around here a lot, mostly lurking, occasionally posting, and I've got thick skin, so fire away. Btw this car is in the shoals area of Alabama, and I don't put that in for advertising, just for a locale to narrow down the price range a bit.

And the only pics I've got do not show the car back together, I'll post a few more when I get my camera back. The car is assembled except for the tail gate now.

Right now the market is not real good about sell car's... people just dont want to spend right now.. especially if the price is real high...they are a swap meet in the first weekend of feb at moultrie, ga... that would be your best bet.... maybe this will help.....it wont be long till the rod run again to....that will be a good place to carry it too.

You will take a hit on the price with it not being finished.

Spend a little to get decent chrome on it and get an interior in it- It will generate more money and interest if its finished than if it jsut has a nice paintjob on it.

I love El Caminos ,I have a 72SS Elky myself but their resale value seems to always be low. As said above you will benefit by a finished product.

For what it's worth,, sold a triple black 70 ss clone small block elky 2 yrs. ago, was a real nice driver about a 7 on a 10 being best for 9,500 had to wait awhile to get that [listed it all over]. Future elky owners can be picky. We all know the market is in the toilet now, maybe list it on feebay?,, see what they are bringing now. Just my .02 worth, good luck on your new buissness venture.
