I've got a '68 GMC w/small block. Lately when I turn and release the key the starter stays engaged. It was a real problem when the battery was almost dead and the starter wouldn't release. Do I attack the starter or the ignition switch?

Bypass the switch and try with a remote starter switch. Hook one to the Pos+ other to the NSS(purple wire). Try turning it that way. This will bypass the ignition switch. I just had this same issue the other day, thought it was my ignition switch. Turns out the NSS switch wire wasn't connected all the way at the bulkhead, causing intermittent behavior.

Thanks Jason I'll give that a try first. Do you make it to the Auburn Cruise Nights?
