I bought a pair and they look fine, however getting them installed (staples through the rubber in the correct locations) isn't easy. Do I put the staples in the fender first to mark the rubber then use an awl to put a hole in the rubber ? Is there a step by step instruction on how to install them properly ?

I do not have a step by step procedure to install this particular seal, that's probably how I would do it though.Sounds like you're on the right track.
