I want to do a suspension drop on my 72, I'm thinking 2 inches should be enough without running into any problems with scraping. About a year ago I replaced all the suspension and I recently installed new tires and wheels 16 inch all-around to 245/50. Looking for some feedback advice on the three options I've been considering.

Keeping the stock spindles and installing 2 inch drop springs.
But my research tells me, this puts more stress on the ball joints and I should also install new shocks.

Replaced the stock spindles with 2 inch drop spindles.
But again my research tells me this stiffens the ride, but what I'm not sure is doing need to replace the stock springs with 2 inch drop also.

Install the QA1 coilovers. I'm thinking this is the route I will take, but doing need to replace the spindles if I plan to drop more than 1 inch. What I like about this option is that it’s adjustable.

So any suggestions on the pros and cons of these options would be greatly appreciated. Also the application is for a daily driver car and I’m doing this for the looking handling.

Drop spindles havo 0 impact on ride quality as they do not impact spring rate or height.

I would go the QA1 AND spindle route if you can afford it. The drop spindle is a better way to drop for geomrty reasons and the QA1 will provide a siffer rate for improved handling with the option to alter ride even further.

Having done all the different ways to lower an A-body,my choice would be the 2" drop springs. Quality units like those from Coil Spring Specialties are around $100/pair or less and CSS can build in the ride and handling qualities you want. If you decide to install some serious rolling stock, drop spindles can cause clearance problems. Another problem with most drop spindles is the need to use later model G-body brakes which are less than desireable.
Coilovers are nice but are kinda over the top,price-wise.
Just my opinions,though.
