I want to do a suspension drop on my 72, I'm thinking 2 inches should be enough without running into any problems with scraping. About a year ago I replaced all the suspension and I recently installed new tires and wheels 16 inch all-around to 245/50. Looking for some feedback advice on the three options I've been considering.
Keeping the stock spindles and installing 2 inch drop springs.
But my research tells me, this puts more stress on the ball joints and I should also install new shocks.
Replaced the stock spindles with 2 inch drop spindles.
But again my research tells me this stiffens the ride, but what I'm not sure is doing need to replace the stock springs with 2 inch drop also.
Install the QA1 coilovers. I'm thinking this is the route I will take, but doing need to replace the spindles if I plan to drop more than 1 inch. What I like about this option is that it’s adjustable.
So any suggestions on the pros and cons of these options would be greatly appreciated. Also the application is for a daily driver car and I’m doing this for the looking handling.
