I was looking for more info(just a bit curious) about the carrier bearing nut-type adjusters vs. a case spreader and found this very thorough write-up. I believe their 9" third member case version also has these adjuster nuts incorporated into it....sure beats an expensive case spreader for the original type Dana 60/44 etc. Thought it might be of use to someone someday wanting to change ratios in their Strange case and do it the easy way.

Just thinking about it, since a few of the guys on here weld their own tubes, etc., wondering if there would be a tap tool available to retrofit these adjuster nuts into OEM cases...seems worthwhile to me as it would save some time getting the carrier bearing shims right, especially for guys changing gears often(like the serious Pro Gear racers)...just a thought.
