I am looking for a painted oil pan for a 71 454, and have found them at various suppliers. However, the pricing varies considerably. Ground Up has one for $179.00, and NPD has one for $42.00. With such a drastic difference it has me wondering what the difference is in these? Has anyone here had experience with either of these? Bill Rose tells me that he has used the Ground up pan and says it is a good one, but I am looking for someone to tell me about the NPD pan.

I used the NPD pan, and it seemed to fit good. No leaks, until I put a rod through it :(

Also, does the oil pan original to the 71 454 have the drain plug on the bottom center, or in the corner where side and bottom meet on the drivers side?
