How come Moog, in the OPG cat. show different springs for an AC equiped car vs non-AC? Others don't seem to care, I.E. on the previous page for 1" drop springs or Hotchkiss springs.
What's the difference other than the weight of the compressor? That shouldn't make that much difference, should it?

The compressor and the big thing on the firewall. Evaporator or something?
I don't think stock springs are all that stiff so even seemingly little difference in weight can have an effect on the ride. Hotchkis springs are much stiffer so a little weight won't make as much of a difference.

I believe the "book weight" for the stock A/C system is 110 lbs... which is a fairly substantial weight hit, and would definately require a different set of springs to maintain the proper ride height.
Aftermarket spring makers don't seem to differentiate between A/C and non-A/C (the car wtih A/C will just sit a hair lower), but OEM replacement springs do take this into account.

Thanks Guys,
Seems the recent posts re: Hotchkiss springs being too stiff on main section of this board bear out your statements.
Anybody get an honest 1 inch drop by installing lowering springs and without having to cut new springs?
