I stopped by a friends shop this morning to wish him a Happy New Year. He had a 70 Elky in his shop. He asked me to make him an offer. It has fresh paint (copper w/tan vinyl roof), a 350/300hp crate motor, 4-speed, tilt wheel, PS, PB, AC, no interior (it is available but as an extra), and new door rubber. This is what I know. If I get a chance I'll supply a picture. As the forum states WHAT"S IT WORTH?

unfortunately, your friend is going to find el camino's just dont bring the kind of money chevelles do. still costs just the same, but the return on all the work is about 2/3 of what a chevelle will bring. Offer him 3500 bucks and see what he says. make sure its a muncie 4 speed inside the thing. jim

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure. $3500, huh?

I may be thinking a bit low, but around here, go to craigslist and type in el camino under cars for sale by owner, you'll find some pretty nice done rides that arent selling, if it was a chevelle, they would be gone.
Im guilty of over pricing my 71, I tried for 5K but its got a 454, th350 with 2400 stall, 12 boltr 3.31 posi, buckets, console, tilt, SS hood, dash, discs etc. I would have even thrown in a complete 4 speed changeover. Still no takers. Granted its needs paint. jim
