I didn't even need to look, and knew it should be a Kansas City car. Yes, that is a legit stamp for it... :D

Are you being sarcastic...? Is it legitimate or not...?

Don't take the same attitude with me that you took with F41. If you open your eyes and read, I said it was legit. (thats short for legitimate... )

I see what Alek may see, a "smart a**" green smiley laughing face after the legit answer, meaning ha ha.

Then why the green smiley face? I always thought that meant someone was joking...

No attitude here. I know how to read just fine, but as for seeing a person's facial expression from a bunch of words on a comupter screen...well...

:D

What does F41 have anything to do with me asking a serious question?

How do you reconcile the statement "Been in the barn since 1979" with all the rust issues? Were these cars really that bad after only 9 years in Ohio, or did the barn have a leaky roof? They probably were.

I just sold a 72 Camaro with many of the same attributes as this Chevelle. Parked since 81. 95K miles. Lots of origional components, etc that seemed to support the mileage and inoperative interval.

Next time I won't be in a good mood and I'll scowl like this. It's people like you guys that make people like me give a **** less if I help you or not.

That seems to be a problem with a lot of posts on all threads. People take things wrong just by how they're worded, whether they put a smiley with it or not. (sad smiley depicting that it's a shame)

Now Dave put a smiling smiley (:D), so I'd think he was just smiling.
Now if he had put a winking smiley (;)), then he'd be joking.

Maybe we need a smiley etiquette guide here.;) (I'm joking, but half serious)

Those that know what they are looking at,like Dave should not waste their time trying to be of help. Anyone that knows Chevelles and 1970 in particular, knows all Leeds cars (Kansas City) big blocks were stamped upside down. I have never seen a legitimate one that wasn't:D

a lot of real salt was used in those years. i was in Cleveland in the early 80s and two year old cars had holes you could stick your head thru. i saw a LeMans wagon at an auction that every piece of trim stuck out an 1/4 inch pushed by the rust underneath.
