Any idea what a guy should offer for this 70?
Seller does not have build sheet, but says it's matching numbers.
See link below.
Thanks,
Bruce

The only way to tell if these cars are original is through documentation. No documentation could mean that it is a clone, being offered as an original car.

Bruce, because there are 10x as many SS Chevelles on the road today than ever were actually produced, and #'s have been restamped so many times, and build sheets faked, most people here are going to say it is a very nice clone because there is no actual proof that this car is a true SS. No matter what a car has in parts and stampings, it can be faked and will be cosidered to be fake unless you have original documetation to prove differently.
That being said, how much would it cost you to find either a super solid 70 to start with of one that you might get cheap and have to put a boatload of cash into just to have the afformentioned solid body to start your build with? Then how much would it cost to build that car into a car that is even close to the one in the link you provided? You also have to consider the hassle of looking for one and then going through all the BS to build it up like this one!
Another question is, will YOU be happy having this much money in a car with no documentation? Will it bother you everyday or are you fine with it as long as you have a very nice car?
In the end it does not matter what anybody else thinks! If you are happy with the car and the money you spent on it, you are the one that has to make you happy!
In my opinion, if the car is as nice as it looks, you would be hard pressed to build one for what he is asking also considering it looks as if he will take less than his asking price because of the "Best Offer" option on the auction.
Just looking at a few pics and not inspecting it in person, if you can buy this car in the 30-35K range, it would probably be a good deal.

It's at a dealer, assume they are lying.
Anything they say must be backed up by documentation!

Going on the assumption the car is "not" an SS (because I don't believe many really are) and that it is as solid as it is being represented,, I would say $25K. I know it certainly would cost more to build one but I would expect to get at least that much of a car for that kind of money.

Bruce you just cannot pry yourself away from these dealers. It is always going to be the same old song and dance.......overpriced and many lingering questions.
However offer $30K and see what their response is.
