Talk about a scumbag....This clown leaves the guy a negative because he refused to sell his Chevelle for $23.00!! The "counter offer the guy claims to have accepted obviously had to have been a typo....EBAY should NOT allow you to leave a negative in a situation like this....

Well, if he listed the auction as No reserve and the bidding only went to 23.00 and there was nothing saying it was for sale outside of ebay and no other bids, I could understand why the guy was ticked. He rightfully won the car for 23.00 and not knowing the rest of the story would be ticked off as he did not get the car. From what little is there, the negative is correct. On the other hand, I can understand why the guy did not sell it for 23.00. He should have put a reserve on it.

Nobody in their right mind would ever even consider that $23 might be correct. That is just stupid. Boo-hoo, I didn't get a $23k car for $23. Give me a break.
I do want that guy's hood though. Would go right on mine without having to paint it or anything. Maybe I'll offer him $24 for it.
Edit: I realize it's a clone but a sweep speedo? That is terrible.

What kind of feedback would you expect the seller to leave for the winning bidder if the car sold for $90,000.00 and the buyer didn't pay?

After all, nobody in their right mind would ever consider that 90k might be correct....

It goes both ways, it's supposed to be a binding contract for both buyer AND seller...

you have to wonder how this whole thing went down. i've seen people bid more on a friggin oil cap, and yet this ride went to $23??? i wonder if that was the last bid, before e-bay pulled it, or seller figured out what he did, and pulled it. i garauntee, the highest bid on that car would have been far beyond $23... there is more here than we're seeing.

in this economy, if i would have seen that car with minutes to go and it was at $23, i would have thrown thousands at it, not anywhere near $25k, but probably at least $5k just to see where it went.

again, more to it than we're seeing.... all the guys on this site, looking at e-bay daily, and nobody caught this? i highly doubt it....

Yep,
Bill is right, we never know the complete story behind any of these deals. Maybe just a case of the decimal point in the wrong place.

NO you guys misunderstand I think...The guy had a buy it now or best offer. The guy made an offer and the seller sent a counter offer(had to be a typo) of $23.00 and the guy took it and then expected him to sell it to him for $23

I guess he must have typed 23.000 instead of 23,000

still makes buyer an idiot....

your scenario, and i've done this myself.
me: " i'd hate to bid on a car i can't win, what are you looking for"?
him: "17-18 ought to do it"
me: "thank you"

now, i wouldn't think for one second, that meant 18.00....

buyer is an idiot....

There has to be more to the story then that. On 90% of the no reserve auctions I have ever seen. Bids on a nice car, which this looks like it is, have gone to at least 15K, let alone a convertible. Maybe the guy should have put a reserve in, maybe he shouldnt have. Thats not for me to say. But for a buyer to honestly think he was going to get that car for 23 dollars is just idiotic.

It was a "BUY IT NOW" listing with a "make offer" button.

The seller made a typo when he sent his counter offer and the idot tried to take advantage of it.... The seller told me he talked to ebay and they gave him credit on ebay fees but refused to remove the negative.
