hi i have 70 chevelle all drums switch over to front disc came across a 71 parts car this proportioning valve was in trunk wondering can i use it?here are the numbers can someone identified this and let me know if its for front disc drums rear. nc51kh0857 thanks

i cant help with the numbers. can you see if the lines match up with the donor car to determine if it was cut out from that exact car? if it does not look like the one in your 1970 then it might be correct?

found this one in trunk of 71 chevelle my 70 chevelle does not have power brakes. so i guess if someone doesnt comes thru with the numbers im going to have to buy a new one. the correct one for front disc rear drum. storm

storm, if you are talking about the valve that mounts just under the master cylinder, then it should be easy to figure out what you have. The same type of valve was used in 69/70. In 71, they moved the valve down to the frame.
Here are the valves/distribution blocks that are on my 70 SS frame.

I have two 70 valves in the garage, I'll check them for numbers. I'll also take some pictures.

trying to post some pictures i have the porportioning valve on the frame also but it going to be no good for front disc so i think this combination valve will work which mounts to the power brake booster. i hpoe its foe disc front drums rear.
