I noticed there are small clips that slide over the bolt holes on the lower front control arms. I replaced my arms and obviously the little clips went to crap. Once the bolt goes through the clip and the hole there is no threat on the shock holes so does the bottom of the shock just sit over the bolt top? Basically what I am leading up to is can I just say screw those little clips and buy a bolt and nut and tighten it down to the arm?

YES you can just use a bolt n nut combo... Those lil clips were speed clips for ease on the assy line... You can get them at Lowes or Home Depot though... I did, just don't remember which store I got them at. I believe they are called "J" nuts or "Timmerman" nuts if I remember correctly... Are used big time in aircraft. There is a nut n bolt place off Power Inn Rd. that might carry them too. Can't remember the name of the place, will have to talk to my old man and get it if you're interested. Have you been to one of the Sacramento Chevelle Club meetings?? There will be one on the 31st at the Red Robin near Sunrise Mall. It's an informal meeting and we'll eat lunch. Show time is around 1:30PM.

Yeah I found some of those clips at Lowes Hardware on Arden Way They dont line up as well as the old ones but I also bought a set of good bolt and nuts in case I guess I'll throw those on with some washers and it should be good to go. I was just a little leary about doing anything different with that area, the bottom of the control arm where it bolts on isnt too thick, and the one i had before busted through! One of the reasons I replaced..... the 31st huh, ill almost definately make it. Yeah, I've never made it to one of these turn outs yet
