I have an earlie model of the 650 demon carburetor with vacuum secondaries and I want to machine the baseplate so I can install the Idle Eze. Does anyone have the specs on how deep and wide the channels are on the baseplate? I called Barry Grant but they would'nt tell me...I can purchase the Idle Eze from Jegs and install it myself by taking the baseplate to a local machine shop and cut the channels onto the baseplate.
Thank you,

You should check your carb for the channels. Every BG carb I've taken apart had the channels whether it had the idle-eze or not.

I have one of each:
one has idle eze (759 DP)
the other doesn't (older 650 vac sec and NO vac sec quick change spring screw thing).
I'm going to guess that you'll be drilling and tapping out the center then buying the center screw thing from jegs, I don't know where it draws the air in from but that would have to be machined as well.
The port to each barrel is 1/8" by 1/8" (wide x deep) and the center hole is 5/8" at the bottom and I can't really tell for sure but the tapper of the center hole looks like 5/16" outside with some kind of seat glued / pressed in.
Does the kit from jegs include a seat? If it does then that would be your guide.
Is this a special order? I didn't see it on jegs.com How much is the kit?

KarlJay,
Did you looked at the channels on top or bottom of the baseplate? My carburetor is an older model like yours (without the quick vacuum exchange cover) and it has the channels on the bottom of the baseplate but not on top of it. In order to see these channels you would have to unscrew the baseplate from the carburetor body. Below is the link to the Idle Eze being sold at Jegs, the pressed or glued seat you are seeing must be the bottom of the Idle Eze assembly. Let me know if you are able to get those measurements. Thank you for looking.

Ok, that was from the bottom of the plate.
From the top is different: 4 openings 1/4" wide x 1/16" deep
Also that pressed/ glued seat looks like it's actually a part of the kit so just drill and tap based on what you get in the kit. Mine looks like it screws in.
