Can gas shocks go bad if they are left fully extend for a long time (2 months)?

Anything is possible but I have never heard anything like that.

I know they should be replaced every 30k miles...but never heard of what you said

thanks for the replies. i have removed the shocks to find out that the springs are pushing the rear end up to the full length of the shocks. i am compressing the springs now. are there any pros and cons i should know about?
