with the hole in the floor pan below the heater duct makes me think this car is full of rust in all the wrong places. My 66 Chevelle had a rust hole in the same place along with more hidden rust. and I got my car for 2K less

It has a malibu and not an SS grill on the front.
Better watch out on this one.
Could be an SS that has had the grill replaced with a malibu I guess????
If so, very possible front end damage due to a wreck and malibu grill put on it.
No engine, no tranny, no interior much.
Red car, black dash, and blue console/door panel. Wow.
Person would have to check it out to be sure it is an SS and also the body panels.

A personal inspection might be in order to determine the present state of the rust. If the body is shot then it may not be that great of a deal. If the body is in fair condition then it is worth every penny.

Here is how I look at all these rollers that get posted. If you consider everything 90% are not a great buy at FREE. If a person can convince me that he does not care about the cost and time to build the car, the loss he will take at any point on the car if he has to bail out of it, and it is something he just wants to do I will tell him the initial price on a car like this does not matter. In the end it will represent on a very small % of the build.

As the market will probably stay like it is for quite awhile I think you will see more and more of these cars remain unbuilt. Not only is it getting more expensive to build them, finding someone to do reasonable work the working man can afford is becoming very difficult. The guy willing to fork over $30-40K to build a very common car like this missing the original drivetrain and no documentation is becoming an endangered specie.

So for more people than not this car is worth about what it will part out for.

There's plenty of buyers/enthusiasts that perform 90% of their own work and really don't trust the work of someone else. If this car doesn't need extensive rust repair other than quarters, outer wheelhouses and minor floorboard work along with the assumed rear window panel and lower fenders, it would be a great deal. If it's got a 12 bolt, control arm supports, bb harrison rad. and a solid hood it's a steal. It's on the wrong coast though. :(

I agree with you 100%.I bought my car for $1500.00 and I put 15,000.00 into it.Granted, it`s a nice car(in my opinion)but how much is it worth now?

Got a good deal Keith, supper deal if it had a 66 12 bolt. Then what about the rims, original or not and a lot of other spare parts.

Its possible there is at least that much in parts alone. If that console is in good shape. That can potentially be 500 plus right there alone.

John, I'm just curious...
Why did you start two identical threads on this car about 10 minutes apart?
