I am ready to install my rear sway bar. do all rear sway bars have shims? If so how many and which side do they go on or both. How can you tell how many you need? I guess any info on this would be great.

When I added the rear sway bar to my 67, I was told the shims are used to "fill in" the gap between the bar and the arm. You do not want to take up the gap or space by tightening the bolts, this would force the sway bar to be loaded. You must also use arms that have been adapted or are original designed for a sway bar. Arms that have the filler reinforced centers, or for better terms "not hollow".

I have heard that some cars don't even need it, i would fit it up against the lower control arms and see if you might be needing some. They are fairly cheap, i picked up the bolts & shims for like 7 bucks.
