: anybody know a vendor for Moog front end kit?
Tom Mobley Nov 3rd, 03, 2:54 AM I completely rebuilt the front end on my Chevelle back in 89 and only 14 years and 150.000 miles later it needs it again. smile.gif
Has anybody had good luck with a particular vendor of this stuff. I want to go with all Moog stuff this time, 100%. I'd like to buy a kit if possible, upper and lower ball joints and bushings, inner and outer tie rod ends and sleeves, drag link and idler arm.
I've looked around some, no joy so far.

70Z15 Nov 3rd, 03, 11:12 AM I got the 'Original Performance Super Front End Kit' from www.p-s-t.com (http://www.p-s-t.com)
I'm pretty sure that the parts are all/mostly MOOG.
kmchugh Nov 3rd, 03, 12:38 PM Tom, I saw the complete Moog kit with polyurethane bushings in one of my catalogs for $360. I think it was the Paddock, but it may have been OPG, or Ground Up. I'll check when I get home.

ben70 Nov 3rd, 03, 2:15 PM Checked my OPG catalog, they got 'em.
Tom Mobley Nov 4th, 03, 6:17 PM Dang, OPG is over $300 for my 70, that's doesn't seem to include the center link.
p-s-t (http://www.p-s-t.com/) doesn't mention the word Moog, and $150. I'd guess no Moog.
Any others?
Tom
Midnight Marauder Nov 4th, 03, 6:25 PM Why not Summit? If it is not in their catalog call them and tell them what you need and they'll put it together. In the christmas catalog they have the ad posted for baljoints, tie rods and centerlink but they carry it all.
kmchugh Nov 4th, 03, 10:07 PM Tom, my OPG catalog (2003) says $290 for the urethane kit. Sorry about the misquote. Do you need to replace the center link? I would think it would be OK unless it was bent up in a collision.

Steve_69 Nov 4th, 03, 11:37 PM Most GOOD auto parts stores can still get Moog parts for Chevelles, or at least can special order them. Usually at much cheaper prices than specialty places.
If you don't have one nearby or can't find one, try these guys. They sell parts to our Chevelle club a lot. They ship parts and have just about the cheapest prices going for stock type parts:

If you need brake parts, especially rotors ..these guys are the best price for quality parts going ....bar none!

Tom Tom, the complete kit that I got was $289 less centerlink. I know for sure the ball joints are Moog.
elcamino72 Nov 5th, 03, 10:33 PM I know alot the parts from PST that we got for my friend's 1965 Falcon were hecho in China  !!!!
But it's a Ford so why worry .... tongue.gif
But seriously be careful, PST sells the parts cheap just make sure you check to see where they are manufactured!
My vote is a local autoparts store or Summit Racing
pages67 Nov 5th, 03, 10:44 PM I got mine @ Carquest - made by Moog, and cheaper than any of the specialty places. I just used rubber, cuz mine's a daily driver.
68Elkie Nov 5th, 03, 11:15 PM I bought all my parts at the local Advance Auto, put the shopping list together on-line and took it with me. $500 bought new gear box, center link, idler arm, all bushings, ball joints, tie rods, and springs. The only part I didn't replace was the pitman arm - they don't carry them. Bought new shocks as an afterthought - not included in the $500.
