Definitely a custom. Starfires were a sport/luxury model of the Olds lineup - much like the Grand Prix Pontiacs.
You'd have the only one at the cruise nite, that's for sure.
Maybe it was built for a guy & his wife to take road trips. She had to take the whole closet!!

I think I've seen these, but I don't remember seeing one with a landing strip like that fro a trunk. Looks like a two-seater, almost like an El Camino with a lid.

Little things give it away as a pretty extensive custom job back in the day. It would make for a really interesting "ElCamino" re-do if trunk lid and rear valence were re-done and the rear half was treated to the inside of ElCamino bed metal - "Old Meano"?

Like 1969 El Camino Dan says (man, those El Camino guys are smart!), it's definitely a one-off custom. The only thing that I don't buy is the supposition of the seller that it was originally intended to be a flower car. Flower cars dating all the way back to the teens were upscale vehicles with an open bed where flowers could be easily placed in the vehicle at the funeral home and easily removed at the grave site. The deck or lid on the subject Olds makes no sense at all for that application. As a matter of fact, the size of that lid makes no sense at all, period. I hope that it is hinged at the side because if it is hinged like a trunk lid, you'd need power assist, just to open it. Other than that, it looks like the fabricator did a quality job - I just don't understand why.

All the flower car conversions I have ever seen were open in the back like an elcamino.

Here are a few to look at:
