i got the top pin and bushings replaced tonight. working on the lower now

i have the pin out and the bushings. after taking the roller out (the one at the top of the hinge close to the firewall) i noticed its very worn down. the roller that was on it also never fit right and was cocked.
it seems the bushings that came with my kit wont fit that area.
do i have to get this kit for it..

Aaron, I bought the same rebuild kit for an extra set of hinges I had. The kit is an imported ROC garbage bag. The roller will not roll correctly as the original did. The ferrules will need to have their seats drilled and opened, I had a tight tolerance and epoxied them in place. The sintered ferules cannot be used. I wrote about this a while back. It's imported crapulance at its best, Junko. Unfortunately most resto houses only buy this junk. The GM kit I bought years ago in the 70's fit like a glove. We all get fooled with this imported junk. Buy American if you can find it.

You have to stake the new pins, so they will not come out. The detent rollers that all the vendors sell are junk made in China, that will not roll well with pressure on them. Contact me if you need a roller made in the USA, we make with an oil-lite bushing, with a harden roller, that should never seize up.
