I helped a fellow club member pull the coils from his 65 Chevelle the other day. As we finished pulling the coils, he mentioned he already bought shocks.

I asked him how he knew what length to buy as the Caprice spindles he bought are alot taller than the OEM units we pulled (I think it would need a longer shock, right> Since the taller spindles increase the distance from upper to lower arm).

I think he said he bought shocks for the 65, but wouldn't they be too short?

Original length shocks are correct for the tall spindle swap. The shock goes from the lower control arm to the frame. The tall spindle swap affects the relationship of the upper control arm to the rest of the suspension.
