Anyone ever tried to use these brakes on a 12 bolt rear end in a chevelle? They are 11" with a small drum brake inside the disc rotor. Looks like a good setup and it is a 5 on 4 3/4 Bolt pattern, I just didn't know if all the offsets would work out ok. Erik

I installed on a 10-bolt and the caliper bracket needed to spaced off the axle flange about 1/4" and the middle hole in the rotor was slightly small to fit the axle and required a little work with the die grinder. It is very close but just a little small. You need to use 2wd rotors, not 4wd rotors which have way too much offset.

Thanks a lot Peter. I guess the 2WD ones have the internal parking brake mechanism as well? How do they work on your car? They look like a great setup. Did they fit with 15" Wheels? Thanks again, Erik

Erik,
I do believe it was Peter that sent me the photos of the swap on my webpage. Might want to take a look and see.

Yes, the 2wd is about the same as the 4wd except the rotor is shallower. See the pictures on Joe's page. They do fit with the 15" aftermarket steel wheels I have but I don't know about stock 15" wheels. I would suspect they would though. I don't know how they work yet since it's still just a bare frame. I don't see any reason why they won't work really well though.

I measured the rear discs on a 2002 Four Wheel drive S10 and they are about 11 5/8 inches in diameter. I am not sure if the 2WD disc diameter is the same. They sure look like a nice simple setup. Probably easy to hook up the littel drim brake with the original e-brake too.

Brian is talking about the older models, the new models have 11" discs (Brian, the topic is rears BTW).

Peter,
Did you use new parts or were you able to find used brackets.Around here the junkyards don't want to seperate the caliper brackets from the rear.Obviously the rotors and calipers would be parts store items.

I bought a complete 4x4 rear end with the track-lock differential. I have a S10 that the warranty just expired on and am going to try to replace the open rear with the track-lock. I need to find someone with a programmer to change the rear-end ratio programmed in the computer when I do it. I don't want to spend $700 on a power programmer just to change the rear gear.
