bobcat Feb 22nd, 03, 11:00 AM I'm now in search of a rearend for my 66. For right now I'm looking for anything to put under there to make it roll, but if I can get a 12 bolt, or 9" right now that'd be great. The question is, will a 12 bolt from a 68-72 car fit under my car? Is the geometry the same? Someone was telling me that the later models are just a hair longer than the early models. I guess if anyone has something to sell, I'm definitely interested as well. David Bates Feb 22nd, 03, 12:09 PM The 68-72 12-bolts are about 1" wider than the 65-67 housings. My 66 springs are also different on the upper half than 67 up springs, open on top instead of pigtailed, so I doubt I could of used 67 up springs on a 66 frame. ------------------ Dave Misc money pits and projects What, me worry? I have only owned 1966 Chevelle and El Caminos (15+), and have swapped several later rearends in... The later 68-72) will bolt right in using the 66 control arms and springs... I am not sure about other years chassis/spring combos... | ||
