You guys set me up with the right shift arms for a hurst shifter. But just trying to save myself 60-70 bucks here. Could I take the 1970 M21 side cover, shift forks etc and the hurst shifter and bolt it onto my 1967 M20 tranny. That way I wouldnt have to buy anything shifter partwise? thanks.

Yes, that swap will work and function properly.

Thanks! Figure I should try to use what I have.
Any suggestions on a decent (economical) clutch kit? Mild 454, 14" flywheel, wide ratio, and a 3.31 tail gears. The elcamino may end up at the track once or twice, just to see what it'll do. other than that, its a weekend driver. jim

There are many great clutches out there and everyone will have their favorite. I always insist whatever clutch a customer wants, make sure it is not a rebuilt unit but, a well known brand name.

what was the issue of the cf clutch? I see jegs has them for about 180 bucks.
Ever wonder how when you find stuff at a swap meet thats all mixmatched? This would be a explanation. jim

it was an 11 CF DF. i must have got a bad PP or something. i have always had inconsistent pedal heights. i put a new clutch in it and it cured the issue.

i have friensd who run CF's and have no issues. so i think i may have gotten a bad one.

I bought a McLeod assembly from Don's Hot Rod shop for the Nova project.

Philip, Im looking at the zoom mu street setup for 106 bucks through jegs. This would be for my 71 el camino, its basically just a weekend driver, not planning on racing it. OR how this for low buck? just buy a new disc and use the PPlate that came with my changeover? maybe knock the glaze off and see what happens? jim

I run a zoom, and I just love it. No slip. Pedal is easy enough to push down, compared to some I've had before.
