: 72 Rear Quarter Glass Rollers
lev8trmn Dec 13th, 09, 6:49 PM Where can one purchase these rollers? The lower center roller is broken. The other two rollers look to be in decent shape. The one side roller has a lot of slop as compared to the other side roller. Is this normal because the same roller on the other window has the same slop? I noticed they have replacement nuts and washers for these as well, but they are made of plastic. Any metal ones available? Is there a special tool to remove these? Thanks, sorry for the multiple questions. Thanks! :beers:

Bob, I just replaced these on my '70.:D
The center roller I got from True Connections out of Ca. It was a OER reproduction, good quality and exact match.

The front roller on mine was extra loose and missing the preload spring. So, I bought these from another place in Ca. called Truck Shop Car Shop
http://www.truckandcarshop.com/
My rollers were rusted on, so I had to make a spanner wrench to remove them.
I don't usally use these vendors, but I also had problems finding the correct replacement rollers as well. Seems like evey vendor sells rollers advertizing to fit my '70, but none of them were correct untill I found the parts from the above vendors. I didn't understand this as Chevelles (A bodies) are a very common car to restore.

Thanks Lance, Great Info!! I'll check into these. My front rollers have a lot of slop as well. I took everything apart last night (With My home made spanner wrench) :D didn't find any springs either. Thanks again! My next post will be about cleaning and removing minor scratches on original glass!
smoke' em II Dec 15th, 09, 4:41 PM didn't find any springs either.
You will notice that there will be a metal tab/ dog leg next to the front roller, this tab is what holds the roller pre-load spring. This pre-load spring is shown in the Body by Fisher Manual.
