Wow I'm in the process of replacing the driver's quarter on my 68 el Camino. The fit overall is pretty good except the gas door opening. I installed the door and the gaps are horrible. Trying to decide if I should cut the opening out of the old quarter and weld it in or try to dolly the opening flat and reshape it. This is one of those 3/4 panels. The passenger side was good. I bought these panels a few years ago so returning is not an option. Anyone have any suggestions?

So I got ambitious this afternoon. I tried reshaping the gas door opening and was successful. I dollied the openining flat and then clamped a piece of angle iron to the back of the quarter panel and re folded the opening to the correct dimension. On the part of the quarter that has a crown, I took a piece of angle iron and made a bunch of cuts on one side one inch apart so I could arc it to match the shape of the panel yet have a 90 side to form the door opening. I just have to weld up the corners and grind the radius to match the door.
