Is there some brands of cd/dvd burners readers that the laser is stronger .?..as to read scratched disc's?..I have some scratched discs and some readers will see files while others wont

I don't know if the power of the laser has as much play as the alignment and how clean/dirty the laser might be. I'd think a scratched disk is a scratched disk.

Dual layer burners vary strength to burn to both layers.
Some vary strength depending on the reflectivity of the media.
That's for burning ,not reading.

The laser simply hits the surface of the disc, and reads a 1 or a 0. The scratches screw with this process and the disc is misread. If you have a scratched disc, try a disc cleaner, or use some creamy peanut butter and a piece of terry cloth to clean the disc. Remember to go the same direction when you clean from the inside of the disc outward. Don't do the, "wax on wax off," technique. Swirl marks are not good for discs.
