droptop396 Dec 12th, 09, 3:04 PM Very deceiving e-bay ad.
some poor guy probably got taken on this one with the Buy It Now.
Corvair wheel covers advertised as Chevelle. Notice how he describes them to not fit 15" wheels, but never mentions that they are 13". Disgusting how some people take advantage by trying to be so vague that there is a whole lot of words, but none that give correct information.

yodersclassic Dec 12th, 09, 7:26 PM I e-mailed him and told about it. Didn't do much good, he sold them a few hours later. Wait till the guy that bought them tries to put them on his Chevelle.

I also had e-mailed him giving him all the correct information and asked him to give his buyers honest information without being deceiving. But..somebody jumped the gun and hit the buy it now button. That sucks.
floyd66 Dec 13th, 09, 1:04 AM Very tricky ad. When you know what to look for and read his words you know what he is doing.
May the Karma wheel get him.
Strokd66 Dec 13th, 09, 9:28 PM I dont see any false advertising in this ad. The seller was stating what he thought they where. Its completly the buyers responsibilty to verify what these caps are. The seller also has 100% positive feedback.

The seller should know what size they fit and disclose that. It is his responsibility to describe what he is selling honestly. If he took the time to see that they don't fit 15" rims he should take the time to see what size they do fit. Period!
Again, it's called wordsmithing. Some people catch on to it and others get sucked into it. I guess that's the difference between a run of the mill seller and a honest seller.
Now, the buyer should ask but he/she is going off the seller’s description. Although they might have known exactly what they were and that's why they bought them.
droptop396 Dec 13th, 09, 11:11 PM Its completly the buyers responsibilty to verify what these caps are
The seller knew what these were for. He was hoping to hook somebody who wouldn't know the difference. Those are 13" Corvair only caps. if he knew they wouldn't fit a 15" wheel, then I am pretty sure that it was very obvious that they wouldn't fit a 14" wheel either.
Seller should take responsibility to give an honest description. If a buyer has to take the time to research what the caps are, then why shouldn't the seller be responsible for the same? Seller has a computer and can do a search just as easy as the buyer. It is known that at least two people here e-mailed the seller with correct information informing the seller what the caps were for.

fast67vellen2o Dec 14th, 09, 10:28 AM Maybe the person who hit the buy it now wants them for his Corvair? You guys don't know. Maybe the person who hit the buy it now e-mailed the seller and asked what size they were. Sure it is deceiving on the seller's part, but the buyer can just file a pay pal claim stating that they were not as described and will win.

i bet he wont win,it says smaller than 15 and it is,how can you win that
Strokd66 Dec 14th, 09, 12:49 PM The ad does not say that they are the chevelle ones!! Its simply suggesting that they are. If someones stupid enough to pay $300 for these and not verify that they are really the chevelle ones then they are a sucker. You cant blame the seller for stupid people. If the seller was selling these clearly stating they are the chevelle ones and say they fit a certain size wheel and it turns out different then thats another story.

Get real. Not acceptable, trickery and word play is just as dishonest.
Do you use these selling tactics?
Plus his ebay feedback is not as spotless as you had suggested.

Maybe the buyer would have no idea 13" ones even existed, and so would have no reason to think he'd have to verify that....

Gary,
Take it easy on us car sales people... We're not all like that!
Chris R Dec 15th, 09, 6:56 PM He almost seems to be intentionally playing dumb for the sake of selling them dishonestly.
