Has any body grafted a complete C5 front suspension on a '68-'72 El Camino frame yet? Also what about a C4 rear suspension to a "A" body frame?

I have seen some past posts discussing it, and several companies have done whole frames for Tri-5's and early Vette's using C5 and C4 parts.

I am thinking seriously about doing it. Any advice out there?

You would be better off grafting the whole front clip. Getting C5 front suspension peices only to fit on a a body chassis is way too much work for the end result, you would have to fab most of your won mounts and totally redesign the kinematics anyway.

I am with you on this one. I want to take a whole front C5 suspension K member clip and add it with the it's present geometry. Then add whatever I need for the radiator supports, etc.

I've been looking at this for a Camaro and it seems that the C5 K-member would mount the motor way back into the firewall. In about 7 inches. A Camaro and A-body are quite similar in the engine compartment so I'd expect something similar. The steering rack and engine mounting is just set way back in the Vette. The track width is also too wide. I'd expect the front wheels to be either hitting on the inside of the fenders or actually sticking out just a little.
