On my 1970 Chevelle I ordered a new SS dash w/side vents. On my original dash the hole in back of the side vents are about 3 3/4 diameter. On the repo dash the side vents are smaller @ 3 1/4 WHY? My curve tubes that fit over them are too big for the repo smaller size vents.

Use your originals:thumbsup:

You can split your original housings in half at the glue/ weld line and do the same with the repros.
Take out the new chrome vent deflectors out of the repros and place into your original housings and epoxy the two halves of the housing back together.
Go to a home center and buy some soft open cell gray foam weather stiping (3/8" or 1/2" thick made by MD) and run a strip of this around the back of your original vent housings.
Now the vent pipe will seal up on your original vent deflector housings.

All you need to use is 3/4 inck foam like you buy to put around a house door for air leaks.

The foam tape you buy at Lowe's is what i used. Now you know why most hate reproduction parts!
