: Inexpensive wagon springs?

I want to put wagon springs on the rear of my elky. I want to raise the rear a little (can't lower the front to give it rake). I also want to be able to put a load in the back without bottoming out. Where can I get rear wagon springs cheap?

Wasn't that the purpose/function of the OEM air shock's?

go with the springs i did it in my 66 Chevelle. I never had to worry about leaky lines on air shocks, and the car had a nice rake. handled real nice with a rear sway bar.

You might take a look at air bags for the rear coils. I will be using them with my 2" drop rears. I dont want to be doing additional spring changes if the look isn't right when I install the springs, so I plan to use the bags to raise it slightly if needed. Also may use them to add a little weight carrying capacity if I get a car full of people ever now and then. Don't want to be bottoming out.

See if Moog makes a set of cargo coils for the Elky or a wagon, bet they do. They're progressive, so they ride well, but get stiffer as weight is added. I'd also recommend the bags in the springs, much better than air shocks, as they use very little air pressure, and they are in the right place, not stressing shock mounts which weren't designed to carry weight. Air shocks always seem to leak, whereas I've had bags in my car for over 10 yrs with no problems. Jim.

Thanks, everyone!

Mike, I believe that is the purpose of the air shocks, but they're not quite doing the trick. Besides, I don't want to put undue strain on the shock mounts when I could take care of the whole matter with different springs.

I'll look into the air bags inside the springs too.

Thanks again!

I used moog Cargo Coils on my 67 Elcamino with
Monroe loadlevelers shocks...rides great and when 3 big friends think the tailgate makes a great seat at the car show...it works good
