I've got a 72 chevelle with drum brakes all the way around and have just recently changed out the vacuum booster. The amount of brake (leg) pressure between the old and the new booster never changed. Could this be due to the amount of vacuum from the engine??? The 402 that is in the car has a mild cam (comp cams CB 268H-10) Do you think that this would cause a loss of vacuum?? I believe I installed 3/8 line from the Carb to the booster, could this be the problem?? Maybe I'm spoiled from driving an 99 F-body with 4 wheel disc's....

The booster line should come right off the intake manifold,Maybe it will help.Take a vacuum reading from the carb and then the intake to see which one is higher..

Guess I'll have to try that. Every car I've ever worked on, the booster always went to the back of the carb.... So how was it from the factory???

from the factory the booster hose plugged into a fitting on top of the manifold behind the carb.
