I bought a '66 olds 442 10-bolt 3.08 posi for my '69 chevelle for a very reasonable price.
It's obviously very different than a chevy 10-bolt, but I believe the control arm mounts will all be the same. I know it's 1" narrower, which is partly why I bought it. (tire clearance) I want to know if I'll need to do anything different about springs other than running 64-66 style springs (non-double pigtail). Will the spring mounts need to be moved?
Also, I do not know yet if my chevy 10-bolt brakes and backing plates will adapt to this rear (I have rebuilt them recently) Anyone tried this? If not, I have some caliper brackets for converting to discs if I decide to. (the brackets are also for chevy 10 and 12-bolt) If the backing-plate bolt pattern is the same ??? I should have no problem putting rear discs on, Right????
Thanks!
