ok guys, need help...in trying to remove upper control arm the cross shaft won't go past steering column. searched and found one solution is to back the splined hex bolt out using a c-clamp and socket. is there an easy way to just shift the steering column?? any experience appreciated..72 malibu,350,a/c,pwr steering. thanks!

You get some flex room if you remove the bolts from the rag joint, or even remove that lower shaft.
