I got a tilt tele column from a Caddy and installed it in my 66 with no problems I was wondering if anyone knows of an aftermarket wheel that will work with this type of column. If not I may have to live with the caddy wheel or modify the column somehow. Any help would be appreciated

Grant makes an adaptor for their wheels. It is not listed but if you call them they will give you the part number. I have it written down somewhere at home. I emailed them a few years ago when I got a T & T column out of an Eldorado. I had to rebuild it due to an attempted car theft. The ign lock cyl, the housing and turn signal switch all needed replaced and were available from the dealer. I would like to see a photo of it installed in your 66, mine is going into a 64.

I am still in the process of installing it. I had to take it back out to install clutch and break pedals. I had to modify the dash opening slightly to get it to fit but is not noticable I am making amount to attach it due to differences in the column. I will post pics on my website when completed

OK you have run into the same install problems I have. I was planning on modifying the column tube rather than the dash to make it fit the smaller opening. The mounting point won't be to hard, I planned on forming a heavy metal strap that will bolt to the factory holes in the cloumn and mount to the dash in the factory location. I have a torch and a welder so anything is possible. smile.gif
