What is the correct hole for the rod to the MC to attach too? And what is the correct lenght? Car is a 66 with power brakes. The pedal is always rather low. The car was majorly screwed with before I got it, so that might have been messed with.

Top hole in the pedal. Push rod to M/C clearance is 1/16 to 1/4" Pedal free movement. (Except disc brakes). Reference taken from Chevrolet chassis service manual. Tony A. :D

top hole is for manaul brakes, lower hole is for power brakes due to the whole leverage thing. You shuold have about 1/4" free pedal.

I hadn't looked before but there is only one hole so I guess that question is moot. Thanks.

Pat there should be 2 holes about 1.5" apart. On some cars there is a bracket bolted thru 1 hole for the stop light switch.

I took another look and there is a bracket bolted to the upper hole. So I guess that means the rod is connected to the correct lower hole. There is about 1/4" travel. Looks like that part of the system is in order. Thanks!
