Hi guys, I have a 67 Camaro, I already asked this at Cam Tech.

Do any of you have one of these combination valves you can sell? I ended up ruining the end of mine that the rear line connects to, where the valve actually comes apart with hex head. If you have the hex head valve to fit it that would work too (I only need the outside screw in piece). It came off a 71 Nova but I figure they were about the same on all front disc brake/rear drum GM cars 1971 - 81 (I'm guessing). Thanks

If you are willing to change out the internals for your stock internals (not that hard to do) I can head to the 'yard and pull one for you.

You'll want to stick with a combo valve originally intended for your application (hence the need to change out the plunger/spring/etc.) or else brake bias will affect your stopping ability.

Then again, its not like us changing out rims/tires/motors etc. hasn't already changed that graemlins/clonk.gif

72SS,

Like I said I already had that side valve out. what else is there and how hard is the rest to get out. This one is off a 71 Nova like I said but my Camaro is a 67 but those Novas were the same frame as camaro's.

I already drove my car with this combo valve and although it was mushy it worked. I think the brakes were mushy because both rear wheel cylinders were leaking. smile.gif

Since then I replaced all my brake lines and wh/cyl's. Too bad I broke the valve. I can give you some measurements of this combo valve so you can size one up, or do you have one off a 71 Nova? How much do you want for it? Thanks

Ok, I got one at a j/yard today. It came off a 75? Nova 4 door. It looks like the ones the repro stores sell. It's made out of brass and mounts under the M/C but towards the driver side more on an angle. I like that idea it should be easier to get to the spark plugs.

Can I take this type apart w/out ruining it? One good thing the brake fluid that came out of it looked pretty clean. Thanks

RAM JAM-

Let me know if that does not work out for you. i have a second gen camaro '72 and am going to add rear disks. therefor i will be bypassing the rear part of the proportioning valve and put a knob type in its place. i can easily unscrew the big a$$ nut and even send you the interanls. probably wont be doing until this weekend. but let me know. you can email if you want. tommy

Tommy,

That sounds good. Is yours made of brass or cast iron? Do you know if you can take these apart and still get them to seal again for sure? Thanks

Are you concerned with it looking origional? You can get a brass bolt in replacement block that will bolt right in from GM. I believe the cost should be no more than about $70US.

No, not really a concern. More interested in function. Original wasn't brass.
