My name is Dustin. I am a chevelle-aholic, an avid drag racer, and general car and bike nut. I have had My 70 SS 396 since i was 15 and I am now 30. It was bought for me by my father for my first car. It is all original from the motor to the the wheels. The motor has been rebuilt and it has been painted. Auto, buckets, factory ac car. It is not box stock at the moment and My plan is to have fun with it till im about 45 or so then its frame off factory original time. I have built a 65 chevelle race car, that my dad bought brand new in Oct of 64 and a 66 malibu that i found neglected at a guys house here in amarillo.

I am an independant oil and gas producer in the Tx panhandle and I live with my Wife, step daughter and daughter on the way. Any ways, hello and I will have pics up tomorrow.

Welcome in from another Texas guy, and another one in the oilfield business. This is a fantastic sight, and I check in almost every day...and learn something when I do.

Hey thanks guy, thats the kindest welcome to any board ever. The color is shadow grey and black. Just a little darker than cortez silver. Ive around the site a bit and looks like it wiull be very cool. My plans (MAYBE), are to set the orig motor aside for now and build a driver motor, maybe a twin turbo big block and five speed. The original block is like 110 over from 402 and I really dont want to hurt it but i want to drive the car and go do some street legal drags with it for a bit. Probably some 18 or 19 in wheels also. NO CUTTING whatsoever, so nobody get scared. I will not hurt this car at all. Looking at rebuilding the suspension with dick miller rearend links, brackets and Qa1 coilovers and tubular control arms and qa1's up front as well. Needs a new master cylnider so probably some wilwood brakes and master cylinder as well.

see you later

It seams there are. There were 3 70's a couple 72's a 68 and a few 65's in the toen i grew up. There is actually a really good lookin 65 malibu right around the corner from my house. Very popular here.
