: DBW Throttle Pedal p/n Needed

I posted this over on LS1Tech, but got no response. Since this is geared more towards the a-body crowd I thought I would try here as well.

I've searched a lot and found that the 2007 Monte Carlo DBW pedal is a good fit in the GM A-Body cars. Problem is when I called the dealer to order one they wanted a VIN number. There are apparently two different versions and they use the VIN to determine which you need. I do not know what the difference is, but there were four engines offered in that year (3.5, 3.9, 3.9ff, 5.3).

There was also a decent price difference between the two, but my main concern is getting the right one. I have an LY6 which is a GENIV engine that I will be controlling with the GMPP harness kit so there is no extra module or anything needed for this application. Intake and throttle body are 2008 Y-Body.

Anyone have info? Thanks

just for fun I searched gmpartsdirect. I found it under fuel system>fuel supply>pedal travel sensor. It doesn't give you part numbers but the price is twice as much for the one over the other. Not sure why? Hopefully someone who knows something will chime in. I'm curious what you find out.

I purchased the GMPP kit for my LS3 crate.... I believe it came with a CTS-V pedal but I remember somone saying they used a Monte Carlo pedal.. I will check the one Ihave at home... I work nights so give me about 2-3 hours and I should have something....

Um, yeah......how the GM catalog is setup, the only thing the parts guy you talked to would've only had to know if it was a W27 body(Monte Carlo) or a W19 body(Impala)

Pt# 15831256 - '07 Monte Carlo DBW pedal, goes for $45

Thanks for the input to all.

Just to clarify, I have the complete GMPP kit including pedal assembly. Problem is that this pedal will not work in our cars without substantial modification and maybe some elaborate bracket under the dash. From what I have found, the Monte Carlo pedal is a simple and cleaner near bolt in deal.

My web search reveals that there do appear to be TWO different pedals listed for the 2007 MC. What I found seems to indicate that they both fit 06-07 MC and 04-08 GP.

15831256
25830024

Unfortunately I have no idea what the differences are nor do I know which one is correct - or maybe they both work (?).

Anyway, still looking for a definitive answer if anyone has one. Thanks

Refer back to my post, the 15831256 is the ONLY Monte Carlo pedal for that year, the other number is for an Impala. As for why the same body platform uses different pedals, I can't answer that exactly.....

Just to bump this thread and clarify for future DBW builders, that is the correct Monte Carlo p/n and it functions in place of the truck/cadi pedal that comes in the kit.

Andrew's build thread compares the two items: http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1798801&postcount=56

The Monte pedal is only $34 from Gene at gmpartshouse.com

You can see the label on the box from Andrew's picture that the 15831256 is indeed the part.
