My 13" Baer track system has become a bit "spongy" and seems to take more effort to hold since changing from a manual to auto trans. The brakes just don't seem to "grab" the way they should, more of a 'slow-down' feel than a 'stop' feel. Would adjusting the prop valve help the stopping power and feel? Turning which direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise) increases pressure to the front brakes?

If you have an aftermarket adjustable valve I believe it is supposed to be plumbed into the rear brake line and is only used to get the biasing correct between front and back..that is to get the rear drums to grab at the same time as the front disks which will grab first. There isnt an adjustment to increase line pressure. Any chance you have a leak or flexible line going bad?

Maybe "pressure" was an incorrect term, front to rear bias would have been better. I'm thinking I could use more front bias - maybe? When I had a manual trans I used gears to slow the car down most of the time. With the new automatic, it's all brakes now. I notice it particularly in the morning backing out the garage going to work. My driveway is a slight slope and it seems to take more effort to keep the car from 'running away' if you will. Brakes hold fine but it feels like a very hard pedal without much braking power.

It could also be the pads never really got seated correctly and just wasn't as noticable with the 4-speed. So, to increase the bias towards the front brakes, should the adjustment be clockwise or counter-clockwise?
