Anybody's TKO leak? Mine is wet around the trans mount area. But, its not coming from the tail shaft seal. Speedo adapter is dry also. In all honesty, I haven't really taken a hard look at this thing, just looking for the obvious. Hope its not a case leak

Not many places it could be leaking from. Sometimes oil from the rear main runs down onto the trans and runs back after driving. Could be from the driveshaft seal.

I know that some of the early units leaked from the plug that is partially covered by the input shaft T/O bearing support (not sure if that's what it's called). I think the manufacturer changed the design of this seal. If this is the case with yours can you post the build number of your box? It would be stamped on a metal tag affixed somewhere on the transmission.

most likely its what brett is talking about. an oil leak anywhere on the engine can coat the whole under side of the car from dripping and splashing on the road with wind and thin hot oil.

Definielty not a main seal leak - I just had the flywheel off and it was dry (thankfully). And, nothing around the slip yoke area either. Will just have to get under there and examine more closely.

Timely question .......I have had a slight leak with oil showing up on bottom of bellhousing all this season .....thought it my oil pan or main seal .....but quick look appears rear pan area dry ........ maybe its the TKO seal .....the leaky oil is very clean .....no oil inside the bell when I stick my finger inside the adjustment hole I drilled ........my TKO600 a very early one ..........But Liberty had the trans all apart last winter you would think they upgraded the seal ........ thanks for tip will look closer at trans ......praying it not the mainseal !!!!!!

Best way to find the leak is to power wash it and take it for a short drive. If you have trouble finding the leak from an obvious place make sure you haven't over filled it. If you have it could be coming from the vent at the top. Most of the TKO leaks I've discovered are coming from the cluster retainer at the front as Bill70 said. Not tough to fix but a PIA because you have to pull the tranny.

I had the tranny out about 1000 miles ago to service the clutch, and I did pay particular attention to the vent up top, and there was nothing at all going on up there. Definitely not over filled, if anything its low due to the leakage. It seemed to be coming from where the tail shaft bolts to the main case.
