: Murphy's Law Strikes Again
Bob's66396 Dec 2nd, 09, 4:24 PM This weekend,my Chevelle and I are in the East Coast Indoor Nationals, which is an invitational show at the Md fairgrounds. So last night was "detail up" the engine compartment. I decided to install the coded fan and power steering belts, slipped and cracked the intake elbow on the p/s pump. Now I've got a high quality leakage, and nowhere to get a new pump in time. So tonight is going to be removing the old p/s pump and getting the elbow brazed, repainting the pump, and re-installing. Tonight was supposed to be "interior" night. Thanks,Murphy, glad to see you are alive and well...Bob

Dan Orgill Dec 2nd, 09, 7:13 PM Ain't it great owning a frame off car?
If us fusspots would just have a driver, we wouldn't be so worried about all this detailing and these little incidents would never happen.
I feel your pain, as my car slipped off the floor jack and crushed my oilpan in September. All fixed now, but what a pain that was.
Freddy Mercado Dec 2nd, 09, 7:20 PM Wow, sorry to hear that. Hope it all works out for you.

Do you have an extra?
If you cant get it fixed in time we could probally find one for you to at least get back home if your driving the car and didnt trailer it
Did you try and call Bob Wilcox? I am going to bet he has an extra in his shop...
Bob's66396 Dec 3rd, 09, 11:04 AM Well, Everything is all better now. Removed alt.,brackets,belts,ect. repaired the fill neck, repainted pump, brackets, and everything is back together. Took about 5 hours, but it's done. The only crummy part was that I had to drive a detailed Chevelle in the rain, and I have to do it all over again. Murphy must have been asleep during the process...Bob
Bob's66396 Dec 3rd, 09, 11:16 AM By the way,Thanks for the replies and offers to help...Bob
