Buy it and sell the heads for $100. You would only have $150 in the short block...it's a no brainer!

If you have not went to get it yet - GO NOW.
Looks like you may have been in a hurry with casting numbers. For block did you mean 3999289 ???
Heads are 366 truck heads and at least to me are not worth much. But valves could maybe be reused. Obviously you could sell the carb and intake too if you don't want it.
Do you get the valve covers and bellhousing too? If not, try to get them too.

I've decided Im going to pass on it. I have other priorities on the car right now and dont need to get sidetracked with building an engine just yet. If anyone local wants it though...bigdaddyjohnk@comcast.net is the guy's email.

A block, crank and rods don't take up too much room.
You're really going to regret not buying this if the block and crank are good.
I'd pull the heads and check the bore size.
Then check the thrust and size on the crank.
If it all checks out good, $250 is a major score.
I am curious......
if you knew you weren't going to buy it cuz you need to wait till 2011, then why did you ask us what we thought??????????????????????
what's going to change in 2011? is your garage going to become magically bigger?
You could store this in your closet.
You could sell the parts you won't use and your investment would be back to zero.

Yes, I'm moving.
I was considering it, but its just the winter jitters getting to me. Im going to hold out for a 4 bolt block and get what I want, rather than whats available. Im sure one will pop up within the next year.
